Medical Research Spot is seeking an experienced Medical Research, Meta-Analysis & Publication Specialist to provide advanced scientific and methodological support for systematic reviews, meta-analyses, scoping reviews, and other evidence-synthesis projects.

The specialist will be responsible for reviewing completed research work, verifying data extraction and statistical analyses, checking the accuracy of meta-analysis results and figures, conducting comprehensive literature searches, writing and critically revising scientific manuscripts, managing references, performing similarity checks, and addressing editorial and peer-review comments throughout the publication process.
  • Strong background in medical research, evidence-based medicine, epidemiology, biostatistics, or a related health sciences field.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting and reviewing systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
  • Strong understanding of systematic review methodology, including search strategies, screening, data extraction, risk-of-bias assessment, quantitative synthesis, and interpretation of findings.
  • Proficiency in systematic review and screening tools such as Rayyan or equivalent platforms.
  • Proficiency in reference-management software such as Zotero, EndNote, or Mendeley.
  • Experience conducting advanced literature searches using PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, and Web of Science.
  • Access to Scopus and Web of Science is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to retrieve full-text scientific publications through appropriate institutional or academic resources.
  • Experience performing or independently verifying meta-analyses using R/RStudio, RevMan, JASP, or comparable statistical software.
  • Ability to verify effect estimates, confidence intervals, heterogeneity statistics, model selection, and other meta-analysis outputs.
  • Experience reviewing forest plots, funnel plots, sensitivity analyses, subgroup analyses, and meta-regression, when applicable.
  • Familiarity with data extraction and digitization tools such as WebPlotDigitizer, when required.
  • Experience with risk-of-bias and quality-assessment tools appropriate to different study designs and familiarity with visualization tools such as robvis.
  • Familiarity with certainty-of-evidence assessment using GRADE and tools such as GRADEpro, when applicable.
  • Strong scientific manuscript-writing and academic English skills.
  • Knowledge of reporting guidelines, particularly PRISMA, as well as other relevant guidelines depending on study design.
  • Experience verifying references, citations, bibliographic information, and DOIs.
  • Authorized access to Turnitin or another professional similarity-checking platform is strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to methodological, statistical, and numerical accuracy.

  • Advanced proficiency in R/RStudio for meta-analysis.
  • Experience with RevMan and JASP.
  • Advanced knowledge of Scopus and Web of Science search strategies.
  • Institutional access to major scientific databases and full-text journal resources.
  • Experience using Rayyan for systematic review management and screening.

  • Experience responding to editors and peer reviewers and preparing point-by-point response letters.
  • Experience working across multiple medical specialties and managing several research projects simultaneously.
