Early Versus Delayed Iron Supplementation and Neurodevelopmental Outcomes in Very Preterm Infants: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

- SYSTEMATIC REVIEW & META ANALYSIS
This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to evaluate the impact of early versus delayed iron supplementation on neurodevelopmental outcomes in very preterm infants. Given the critical role of iron in brain development and the high risk of iron deficiency in this population, the study will synthesize available evidence to determine whether earlier initiation of iron supplementation improves cognitive, motor, and neurological outcomes compared with delayed supplementation.
